It’s our first Crazy Great Boutique blog post! To kick off the series, we have the honor of featuring Edward Tunick, Men’s Clothier. This specialty store has been in business for over 35 years, and the man behind the brilliance knows how to style his clients with the latest fashions–whether it’s business attire, undergarments or socks, Edward Tunick assists his customers with great personal attention. And while the men suit up, the ladies can indulge in jewelry, hats, scarves, and other accessory shopping.
So where is this madmen-esque shoppe located? Darien, Connecticut. The store is open Monday through Friday 9:30am – 5:30pm, and on Saturday 9:30am – 5:00pm. If you wish to visit in the evening hours, you can schedule appointments.
Prom is just around the corner and Edward Tunick, Men’s Clothier, provides tuxedo rentals for 10 of the surrounding schools in the Darien area. And it gets even better, the store donates a portion of the proceeds of the Darien High School tuxedo rentals to the Edward Tunick Business Scholarship, which is presented to a Darien High School graduating senior! How awesome is that? “We have a lot of fun with the students and it’s one of our favorite times of year,” exclaims Edward.
As previously mentioned, this store provides the latest and greatest–check out the fashionable cummerbund set below.
This garment is actually from a company called Just Madras, which is located in Wilton, CT (only a 15 minute drive from Edward Tunick). We love supporting local and nearby businesses, and it’s glee to our ears to hear our retailers love doing the same!
Aside from the big prom commotion, Edward Tunick, Men’s Clothier, has another exciting event. July 12-14th, Darien hosts their annual sidewalk sale, which Edward Tunick participates in every year. “This is by far our best sale of the year, and we can say the same for most of the other stores that participate,” explains Edward.
Darien has loads to offer. Great dining for one! The town has a vast array of great eateries. Here are Edward’s recommendations:
- Phil’s Grill
- Darien Social
- Fuji of Japan (a hibachi restaurant)
- The Melting Pot (a fondue restaurant)
